The current term
Swing every week – Monday to Thursday
Lindy Hop is the heart of our dance school: the swing dance born in 1930s Harlem that has us so hooked we never want to stop. Plus Collegiate Shag, Balboa, Blues and Solo Jazz.
Our classes run in terms of several weeks, in the evenings at the TanzHalle in Freiburg-Haslach. In the first week of each term, all classes are open for a free, no-strings trial. You can sign up with a partner or on your own.

Basics 1 class
Once a week for seven weeks: in Basics 1 you learn the foundations of Lindy Hop – with lots of movement and lots of freedom.
To the timetable
Tea Dance with crash course
On Sundays: coffee, cake, often live music – and at 4 pm a Lindy Hop crash course, free and with no need to sign up.

This is The Lindy Corner
We’ve been dancing Lindy Hop and authentic jazz in Freiburg since 2014. Our team of more than ten teachers teaches in Hall 3 of the TanzHalle – 140 m² of sprung floor, a high ceiling and room to fly.
The roots
Born in the Savoy Ballroom
Lindy Hop was born in the late 1920s in Harlem, New York – danced by Black dancers to big band swing at the Savoy Ballroom, where everyone shared the same dance floor. Legends like Frankie Manning and Norma Miller shaped it.
We dance it with respect for these roots.
